third thursday webinar

Thursday, January 21, from 11 am to Noon EST.

Presenters: Tracy Owens, Innovations Chair, American Society for Quality (ASQ)

Topic: A Baldrige Approach to Design Thinking

Concepts like Design Thinking, Customer Journey Mapping, and the Baldrige Program intersect in the area of Innovation Management, but they are often regarded as the job of someone else who is uniquely qualified.  Use these accessible tool sets and others to uncover your organization’s hidden strengths and build the next generation of solutions. Tracy will share ways to recognize and relate proven innovation tool sets, incorporate an organizational analysis into design projects, and practical techniques that can be used immediately. The webinar will address the principles of Design Thinking through a Baldrige lens and how to use Customer Journey Mapping to find empathy.

The BPE framework has heavily influenced the continuous improvement approach at Pine-Richland School District. After multiple cycles of refinement through the strategic planning process, the Pursuit of Excellence is now an organizational category within the strategic plan. District representatives will share how the mission/vision/values serve as a “compass” with the strategic plan as the “map” to guide improvement efforts. Practical examples of integration will be shared that include: strategic plan development; leadership system; in-depth program review for educational program/services; communication and workforce development.
